SUMMIT RESIDENCE

This design involved a dramatic 2-acre parcel in Rancho Santa Fe with views all the way to the Pacific ocean. The 6,500 square foot home is designed to be homogeneous with its traditional neighbors from the street elevation and to take a significantly more contemporary feel on the private side of the house. The design uses bow windows and soft curves to create exciting personal spaces while still maintaining dramatic public entertaining rooms. The circulation is anchored by a free-floating circular stair that arches around the foyer and connects the upper level by means of a suspended bridge walkway.
